As an agnostic & a fan of art/indie film (by & large) I usually do not have any use for Tyler Perry's movies & other work - but, he is productive - well, very productive - so probably a good idea to pay some attention to his approach to working. Pretty good advice here (aside from the God stuff) - basically he says to pick one thing & focus:
