DIY Filmmaker (1 - DIY/indie/arthouse Filmmaker Sujewa Blog - 53 FILMS IN 53 MONTHS PROJECT)

Completely indie films are films that the filmmaker/director/auteur can launch, complete, and distribute on their own. Outside of Hollywood or streamers. The reasons to make these movies: 1 - Hollywood movies and shows, also streamers' movies and shows, are not very good. It's watered down formulaic content.  Real indie arthouse movies can be much better. 2 - It's art making. A way to live. A way to connect with the world. 3 - The full story of the world can be told. Diverse movies. Post-colonial and anti-colonial movies. Healthy movies - not insane ultra-capitalist maximalist nightmare movies :).
