The concept of Individual Filmmaker Projects - a path to cinematic liberation

This is a new way of making and distributing movies that I am practicing with my new movie The Secret Society For Slow Romance - a comedy that had to be made in a very minimalist way during the pandemic of 2020. What was caused by necessity may actually be an interesting and effective way to make and distribute a movie. I call it the Individual Filmmaker Project method. Basically we bring the entire filmmaking and distribution, marketing, sales operation down to one person - primarily - the filmmaker. So it is similar to an artist making and selling a painting, a writer writing and publishing a book - so on... The method - the filmmaker produces, writes, shoots, edits, directs the movie.  And in my case I also acted in the movie - as one of the two actors.  And the filmmaker submits the movie to festivals, comes up with a distribution strategy - carries it out - working with interested festivals, indie theaters, getting the film on VOD, making and selling Blu-rays, and workin...

Best website + e-commerce + email campaigns solution for filmmakers and other artists for 2021 is Squarespace

Having compared several of the available, easy to use website building and e-mail marketing programs (Squarespace, Weebly, Wix, WordPress, Shopify, Mailchimp) that a filmmaker may need in 2021 - Squarespace is the winner. Other platforms require you to combine multiple things to get the same result, also not as safe. Squarespace is kind of like Apple - everything is in one place, good design, secure. Something like WordPress may be similar to Android. Problem with WordPress is the extra work required to get the same result, design options not as robust, and safety is up to the user with WordPress, whereas with Squarespace the company takes care of safety, including each of their sites getting SSL certificates. The necessary things - good design, blogging, e-mail campaigns are all included with Squarespace - which is great for filmmakers and other artists who want to create a well designed site fast, take care of the essential marketing work, without having to get into a whole culture ...
